A thorough structural survey revealed the necessity for extensive renovations, including a complete roof replacement.

The decayed roof plate was carefully removed and replaced with a new softwood plate, and new double-leafed stud walls were built to replace the collapsed section of the cob walls. The renovation also required a fully tented scaffold, roof strip and removal, and the replacement of lead valleys and flashing to ensure the building’s longevity.
All works were completed within four weeks by our dedicated in-house teams, showcasing efficient project management and expert craftsmanship. The comprehensive renovation not only addressed the structural issues but also preserved the historical integrity of the pub, ensuring it remains a cherished landmark in the Devon village. The successful completion of this project revitalised the pub, making it a safer and more welcoming place for both locals and visitors to enjoy.
